We might consider that awareness of, and having a true connection to the abundance in our lives and the acknowledgement that we have people in our lives who love us, want to be with us, will help us even when the need arises, is a big part of our practice. To know and honour all those moments where we feel deeply, where we have those gorgeous sparks of insight and loving connection, where we learn and have learnt in the past from amazing teachers, to be conscious of our material good fortune, our mental strength and spiritual growth is very important.
We are given such beauty to contemplate, such love to feel, so much we can give to and share with others. Our acknowledgement of all this abundance roots us into a wondrous feeling of humility, joy and gratitude. It just does. It sets up all sorts of kindness moments, to ourselves and others...Love and kindness and joy live where we practice this, right?

Much happens in the spaces and places inside and through us that we are often not aware of at the time of their occurrence, and so we call the time after these moments "processing". In our practice we endeavour to bring the occurrence in the moment, and the processing and awareness of these moments together into a seamless, timeless union. Afterwards, in our uniquely individual way, we can let these learnings find expression. In this way we are students and teachers and human beings all at the same time. The 10 day MRI workshop I attended in Ontario last June (2017) with Frey Faust was truly inspirational and I am still working to find all I have learned reflected in my own yoga and movement practice. My teaching has changed as a result. So much more to play with.. By the way..another MRI is coming up June 2018 in Toronto. For me one of the things that has been in my body and my inquiry since the MRI is how do the spirals and curves happen? ..Shifting of weight happens and supports the change and flow through all our movements..This I think brings about the release of kinetic energy..We need the support of the kinetic force in order to make any type of movement..I have been wondering about the eternal, timeless and seemingly random interplay between the nervous system and the fascial matrix. We have mechano stimulation which occurs throughout the nervous system..body wide, but we also have mechanotransduction which starts in specific places, locally in the body and creates oscillating shifts through the entire tensional matrix instantly. A change in the balance between the tension and compression forces in the body locally sets up a ripple of change from that local point in the fascial matrix to create the kinetics needed to support any movement. Oscilliations through the tensional network are forcing changes and shifts which in and of themselves create sparks through the nervous system and then back through the tensional web we go. A never ending dance..It might be that it is in this way that kinetic mobilization can happen? ....POSTED BY FREY FAUST ON FACEBOOK....December 2017
Weight is the effect of the mass of the earth and the mass of your body both attracting and pushing each other away. The human body, like other organic bodies, works with and against the principle of tensegrity (tensional integrity - B. Fuller) to both resist and take advantage of gravity. Partial resistance and surrender is how we use the pull/push of the earth to push and pull in turn, in order to get around, and to power many of our most basic biological processes. As we turn or propel ourselves forward, we direct forces in perpendicular vectors to GForce, reducing our "apparent weight". Moving faster to begin with, we are able to jump higher and farther because of this effect. Staying still in a position where available supports are far from the center of gravity can feel more strenuous because of this effect. |
